About us
The first Egyptian Microcredentials platform backed by The National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education(NAQAAE) and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) to help students acquire skills that match shifts in the Job Market. Credix focuses on micro-credentialing in higher education institutions and professional bodies. We will define micro-credentials as educational credentials (non-credit and for-credit) shorter than a degree. The micro-credential category includes digital badges, new certificate programs, and various non-degree credential types such as MOOC-based credentials and certificates of completion from "boot camp" offerings. This perspective encompasses digital badges and other micro-credentials issued as part of existing courses and degree programs to reflect experiences, achievement of learning objectives, and competencies within these classic offerings, which is an important trend and use case. Micro-credentials coexist with traditional academic credentials despite some treatments framing them as "alternative credentials."
Employers' increasing recognition of micro-credentials and adoption of skills-based hiring practices have led many corporations and other organizations to explicitly prioritize using certificates, certifications, and other micro-credentials in their talent acquisition process, often as an alternative to relying on degrees.
Recent financial results from publicly traded education platforms working with numerous leading universities demonstrate a substantial increase in micro-credential enrollment.
However, despite Egypt's significant investments in Education, be it theoretical, vocational, or applied in line with Egypt's vision for 2030, Egypt lacks a comprehensive platform encompassing content, accreditation, and alignment with job providers' requirements.
Credix Goals
- Enhance the identification and documentation of students' learning achievements and improve the communication of acquired skills to employers, potentially by enhancing traditional degree programs.
- Establish more adaptable pathways to obtaining degrees and completing degree programs by accumulating credentials.
- Expand access to affordable certification opportunities as an alternative to expensive degree programs.
- Collaborate with employers and communities to design credentials that quickly meet market and community demands.
